Ladies take centre stage
Naomh Muire are delighted to announce that John Anne O Donnell will be the main sponsor of our ladies teams for the coming years. We are delighted to be associated with this long established and respected local business who has been a long standing supporter of Naomh Muire and provides bus transport to away matches for both Ladies, Mens and underage teams. John provides this transport at a very reduced cost and has been providing this discreet support to Naomh Muire for many years. The sponsorship deal is for 4 years for the period 2016 - 2019 and will extend to Jerseys for all ladies teams including Seniors, U18's, U16's, U14's & U12's. This allows our teams to take to the field with the best of gear and making sure that they always wear their jersey with pride.

Well done Naomh Muire Ladies on their successful bid to host 'Gaelic4Teens' programme being run as a pilot programme by the LGFA in Croke Park!We are only one of 10 clubs in Ireland chosen. 06/09/14 Glenfin 0-12 v Naomh Muire 3-11

7/9/2014

With the Senior Championship three weeks away and the opening match against Naomh Conaill being the opener.....every match now is as much about performance as it is result. Therefore it was good to see both... a strong performance and a win away to Glenfin this evening. Strengthened by the return of Adi O Gara, Shaun the Yank and Owen Grant from the USA....the lads weathered an early Glenfin dominance to go in at half-time with a 5 point lead. The second half saw Glenfin reduce the deficit to 2 points and it was impressive watching Naomh Muire then take control of the match and loading on the scores which their possession deserved. Leaving Glenfin with victory is seldom easy and this was a good performance against a fellow Senior Championship side. Thomas Duffy made his debut in goals and keeping a clean sheet against Glenfin together with getting the kick outs together was a highlight.

The reserves playing with the bare 15 found the home side in strong form but great credit to the lads for giving it their all and although beaten, showed plenty to be proud of.

Overall a good night by the Finn.

Donegal Senior and Minor Team Training Fund Night

7/9/2014

Donegal Senior and Minor Team Training Fund Night - In Leos next Saturday Night 13th
Naomh Muire are hosting an Oiche Mór in Leos next Saturday night in support of the training fund for our heros in the Minor and Senior Squads. Music will... be provided by Local Artists as we show our appreciation and support for both teams as they prepare for the All -Ireland Final in Two weeks. With so many players from Gaoth Dobhair, Dungloe and Na Rossa as well as several locals involved in the management, it is only right that we play our part in helping out the successful training fund.

The sides have brought pride, honour and joy to the county and this is an opportunity to show our support.

There will be an auction of a signed Minor and Senior jersey as well as a signed football from Sundays game (bids can be made in advance).

Please support our County Hero's......Jim, Declan and the teams.

02/06/14 Naomh Muire 2-13 Gaeil Fhánada 0-10

2/6/2014

A good win at home for Naomh Muire Seniors against a Fanad Gaels side who came into this match in joint third position in the league. Fanad as always are a big strong and physical outfit ...however in what was an impressive first half, the home lads ripped into them with the Naomh Muire defence in particular snuffing out the Fanad threat. This was the base for many of the attacks and Fanad found it difficult to deal with the quick ball inside allowing Naomh Muire to build up a 2-07 to 0-03 lead at Half time.

Fanad took the game to Naomh Muire in the second half and although they narrowed the deficit to 5 points a strong , Naomh Muire upped their game in the final quarter and cancelled out any idea of a Fanad comeback.

Overall, this was a good solid home win against a side that can be stubborn and difficult to beat. Its 2 good points and with good aspects to the performance.

The Reserves put in a much improved performance in their match following defeat on Saturday in Ballybofey and although the stronger Fanad Side won today, the lads played well and competed throughout.

11/05/14 Naomh Naille 0-12 Naomh Muire 2-09

11/5/2014

A valuable two points away from home by the lads against a St Naul's side who were sitting in the top 4 position going into this match in Mountcharles. Going into the game minus Owenie McGarvey and Thomas Duffy, with Adi O Gara carrying an injury which later forced him off was always going to be a battle and a blistering start which saw Naomh Muire net twice was the ruthless start that was required.

Controlling the game from defence right through the middle, the lads played some really impressive football combining quick breaks from defence with great link play and brilliant finishing. St Nauls struggled to contain the visitors and Naomh Muire led 2-06 to 0-04 at half time.

As was expected- St Nauls came out all guns blazing in the second half and took the game to Naomh Muire scoring 0-5 without reply. Naomh Muire were very slow to settle back into the match but in fairness did enough to minimise a very dominant St Nauls effort which at times looked like taking complete control of a match they were out of. Although the lads only scored 0-3 in the second half - these were crucial scores at crucial times.

Very much a game of two halves - but on analysis Naomh Muire did enough in the second half to dig out a result and preserve their lead. Overall- the entire team lifted it when St Nauls came back within a score and it was Naomh Muire who finished the strong collecting two points on the road.

Well done to all involved.

The Reserves, fielding a much weakened side with many players missing for several reasons...were well beaten today by a strong St Naul's outfit. This is only a minor set-back as the reserves have been impressive to date and of course are now seeing some of that squad step up to bolster the Senior panel.

U-17 Girls bow out at Semi-Final Stage

Hard luck t our U-17 girls who bowed out at the semi-final stages of the All-Ireland U-17 competition in Galway yesterday evening.
After the heroics of earlier in the day, winning 3 games on the trot, Claregalway proved to be a stiffer challenge for our young girls.
With most of out girls only 15 & 16 years old we will be back next year again to challenge for the title.
We are mighty proud of our young team and their mentors agus beidh muid ar ais!
