Naomh Muire v Glenfin - Following the success in the Intermediate Championship on Sunday last- it's back to the all-important league duty on Sunday with a home game against Glenfin led by current All-Star Frank McGlynn.
The recent turnaround in the Championship which showed both character and attitude when needed along with an injection of pace with Minors coming into the side....has been nothing short of impressive. It would be a great boost to take that recent form into the league which is very probable especially at home where they have been able to turn the screw on many sides over the years. Two points in what is going to be a tough league end would be a great reward for the recent efforts on the road. You just get the feeling that there is a spring back in the squad and a return to early season form which saw them fear no team in this league. This is a great time to be hitting form and whereas Glenfin are always a tough side - the reverse fixture in Glenfin saw leave Naomh Muire leave in a game they should have got a point at least. With every game both in league and Championship of high importance from now until October- Sunday is both a great test and opportunity. Home advantage, good recent form continuing, a burst of young lads full of energy, a strong home support as always could all be pointing to a Naomh Muire victory on Sunday and we wish the entire team and management all the very best. Reserve match at 1.30pm - Seniors at 3pm - spread the word and get the big numbers of support out. Naomh Muire over 35s take notice- Gweedore United are hosting the second Frankie Pat Tournament in Gweedore on Sunday starting at 12noon.
Michael Mc Fadden (Joe) is looking for fit and unfit men over 35 to play on Sunday. PM this page and turn up at 11.40am at Gweedore Utds ground. Teachtaireacht ó rúnaí na Condae. Chuig Gach Rúnaí: It has been brought to our attention in recent weeks that some members of our Association in the county have been using social media to publish defamatory and libelous statements on social media accounts. All GAA members are encouraged to take part in social media but the Association expects each individual to follow the guidelines on using social media. (see attached document) I would ask all clubs to remind their members and players of the implications of referring to the GAA in social media when they do. Each member is to adhere to the GAA's Official Guide and Club Constitution, as well as other applicable documents. All GAA members are subject to the GAA Code of Behaviour when online, even when they are not acting on behalf of the Association. I would ask clubs to make club members aware of the GAA Social Media Guidelines. Disciplinary Action WILL be taken against members of the Association who are deemed to have Discredited the Association or bringing the Association into Disrepute. I trust you will bring this matter to the attention of your club members as a matter of urgency to avoid any potential disciplinary action being taken against any members.
