Naomh Mhuire Seniors came out of Downings tonight with a share of the points to remain unbeaten at the top of Division 3. Sometimes during the season you are going to get games where conditions are bad, good football is not possible, moves just don't come off and a home side fight like tigers and where simply grinding out a result is the order of the day, Friday was such an occasion.
In a swirling cross-wind which was always going to bring about a low scoring match the lads led by 0-6 to 0-3 at HT. The second half saw only a further point added by our visiting team as too much ball was given away easily and when chances were presented they were not taken. Not a great night but it could have been a defeat given Downings second half grit and determination. Lets be positive though....we've now played below ourselves against Milford and Na Dúnaibh in the past few weeks but both games were away from home and we've got 3 points out of 4 and remain unbeaten and on top of the league. The league is now over a third way through and we sit in a strong position to push on for promotion.Naomh Muire: 1. SEAN GALLAGHER 2. JC MULHOLLAND 3. THOMAS DUFFY 4.
