23/06/2011: Naomh Muire 3-12 Four Masters 3-13. The young lads were really unlucky not to win both points in tonig league match at the Banks.
With lots of possesion in the final 5 minutes and Four Masters hanging on to a slender lead, the young under 14 forwards just found that last point or indeed goal difficult to find. A defeat was no shame tonight however and with some great open play from both sides it was an exciting and entertaining match with the visitors full value for their win.....but a draw would have been a fair end to a great match....but we would say that, wouldn't we. Well done lads....dust down and get ready for the next match. This weekend's division 3 games against Buncrana have been postponed due to the County playing on Sunday.
Interesting debate on the hoganstand about these issues....click on the link below to read more........ Debate The under 14 girls play Moville in the County Semi-final tonight (Friday) in Glenswilly at 7.30pm.
Having beaten the much fancied Naomh Conaill in the play off last week, the young girls will know that they are good enough to win this match. However Moville will be tough opposition having come through a tough section themselves. Naomh Muire won this title last year with a great win against McCumhaills in a never-to-be-forgotten final in Termon. Tonight they aim to get back to that final again and the very best wishes of the club and community are with them tonight as they go and give it their best shot.....either way...they are heros. Good luck Results and reports from this evenings Summer league are now in the Bord na nÓg section of the website.

Thanks to all involved in the night. A well attended handover night was held in the Clubhouse last night for several things. Firstly we handed over €1500 as part of proceeds from the Big Fight Night to the Oncology Ward at Letterkenny Hospital. We then received gratefully sponsorship of €1000 from the Cope Community trust. This is an initiative set up by the Cope to support community based groups. The Cope and Naomh Muire then launched our own rewards scheme. This Rewards scheme enables the club to benifit every time shoppers spend €20 or more in the Cope Annagry or Dungloe. If you have a current rewards key from the Cope, please add on Naomh Muire GAA Club the next time you are in. This does NOT affect your points but adds further cash benefit to Naomh Muire every time you spend €20. This will work if we all work it. Please tell family and friends. This is a two way support scheme and Naomh Muire are pleased to be involved. Photos from the launch night are available in the Gallery (Gallery- Events Gallery -The Cope Rewards Scheme |
