Naomh Muire just held on to a lead they got early in the game to emerge with 2 points at the Banks today.
They started well and scored a goal straight from the throw-in when Hugh Boyle finished after Johnny Keenan saved Shaun Boyle's initial effort. Jack O' Brien and Harry Harden got points to make it a 5 point lead. Tommy Hourihane with 2 points and Alan Russell got Bundoran settled into the game. However a second goal scored by Shaun Boyle from a penalty rebound which again Keenan had saved well. Hourihane again and Jamie Brennan got two more points for Bundoran, but these were cancelled out by Harden and Patrick Gillespie. However Bundoran finished the stronger and points from Jamie Brennan and 2 from Gary Clancy left the half time score Naomh Muire 2-04, Bundoran 0-08.
The second half was a tight encounter and with tempers rising it was a tricky game for Martin Coll to control. Naomh Muire lost Jack O'Brien to a yellow and black card. Bundoran leveled the game with points from Jamie Brennan and Clancy, but Harden and Paul Boyle opened the two point gap again. Hourihane closed it to one, but Harden again increased the lead. Hourihane left the minmum between then again but time ran out for the Bundoran team and Naomh Muire were happy to get the off to a winning start.
