The Banks hosts the important Div 2 league match between the Rosses neighbours this Sunday. Dungloe who are sitting in a strong promotion play-off position will come to the Banks with more experience and physical strength and with a forward still remembered as one of the County greats in Adrian Sweeney alongside current County squad member Adrian Hanlon. They will be a tough side to beat and a win will push them closer to a Division 1 spot.
Naomh Muire however will be in no mood to come out second best in what will be a big crowd match on a pitch that is in top condition. Our boys have upped their game in the past month and they will very much look forward to this game with the pressure totally on Dungloe. A good performance by our lads is the aim and with Dungloe strong favourites to take both points and go and win promotion. Naomh Muire will take recent form into the match and see where it takes them. All the talk and build-up at the end of it all results in two league points just like any other match so the hype shouldn't really come into it. Reserve match is a 12.30pm throw in with the Senior game at 2pm. Good luck to players and Management....just give it everything you have, no one can ask for more than that. Comhghairdeachas le girseachaí Ghaoth Dobhair a bhain craobh na condae inne. Bhí triúr da ár ngirseachaí ag imirt leo, Tara, Caroline and Emma.
Go raibh maith agat do CLG Gaoth Dobhair as ucht an aire a thug siad do na girseachaí i rith an ama a raibh siad libh. The Intermediate championship semi final between Naomh Muire and Aodh Ruadh has been fixed for 3pm on Sunday 8th September in MacCumhaill park.
Our U-21s host Kilcar on Thursday night in this all to play for Championship match. Paddy McBrearty will lead a talented visiting side which will also include County player Ryan McHugh. Kilcar are favourites to win this County title this year and beat Glenswilly on Friday night.
Naomh Muire will have other thoughts on this and although may not have the experience at County level - the lads have played together for many years and with some of the Minors coming through into the squad they will be looking to ask plenty of questions of Kilcar and push them as hard as it is possible. Kevin White is our Manager on Thursday evening and hosting teams like Kilcar in the top tier of a Championship is where we want to be playing. Good luck to team and management on Thursday night and let's get a big home crowd out in support. County Ladies Minor championship.

BIG BIG BBQ IN THE BANKS - Saturday September 14th at 9pm Buncrana v Naomh Muire - Div 2 league on Sunday in Buncrana.
Throw in of matches have been changed to 12.30pm reserves match and 2pm Seniors. This is to allow for players and supporters to watch the Live TV Mayo v Tyrone match. A one point victory for the lads today against a Glenfin side that came into the match sitting second in the league and having played Senior Championship football up to last week. They were led by current All-Star Frank McGlynn.
This was an important and much deserved win with Naomh Muire showing great determination and fight in coming back on four occasions. Glenfin...a team traditionally one who like to score goals....scored their three goals when Naomh Muire showed signs of dominating and whereas other sides would have dropped heads......the young Naomh Muire side showed a really positive attitude to come back and edge ahead again on each occasion. Both sides lined out without a regular midfielder each...with Owenie McGarvey unable to play and Stephen McDermott also injured. Overall - Naomh Muire were the better side and the forwards total of 15 scores was important. The main difference however was a really good attitude from the entire team when things went against them today. Once again full credit to team and management today....the season ahead looks really good with a showing like this. In the earlier game the reserves had a great win. Another good performance from this young (and some not so young!) team. The final score was Naomh Muire 2-11 Glenfin 1-04. The U-21's will play the winners of Glenswilly v Kilcar (being played on 23/08/13) on Tuesday 27th at 7.00pm in the Banks.
