(Gallery- Underage Gallery - U16s). In a reversal of the postponed fixture last week, Naomh Muire will host Buncrana this weekend in the league. The reserve game throws-in at 5:30pm while the seniors are out at 7pm. Having been relegated last year Buncrana are certainly going to be tough oppostion and a team that will be aiming for an immediate bounce back to Division 2. Buncrana have played the same number of games and are sitting mid-table at the moment. They will bring a load of experience as well as their county man Ryan Bradley to the Banks and so a close encounter is expected. Come out and support the lads. Best of luck to both teams this weekend. Naomh Muire 3-13 Kilcar 0-10. Under 16 County Championship. Great win by our young lads tonight in the banks against last years County finalists Cill Chartha. Playing with a stiff breeze, the young Naomh Muire lads took control early on and were looking good at half time . Kilcar looked like they were going to get back into and reduced the lead to 4 points but half way through the second half Naomh Muire found another gear and ran out easy winners in the end. The second leg is in Kilcar and it won't be easy. Kilcar will be hard to beat at home but tonight's result shows that all the hard work that these lads have put in works at the highest level possible. Well done lads now heads down and finish it off next week. Naomh Muire ladies are in action in the Donegal Junior championship this Sunday, 3rd July. They play Fanad Gaels in Termon at 12 noon. The ladies completed a home and away double against Red Hughs in the opening round and have recorded three wins in the league so far this year. Let's all get out and support the girls. The Naomh Muire senior team will travel to Glenties to take on Naomh Conaill in a challenge game on Monday evening. Throw in is at 7pm. Picitúir: Donnnachadh Ó Baoill U14 CO. SEMI-FINAL. NAOMH MHUIRE 2-06 BUN AN PHOBAIL 4-05. On a wet evening in Glenswilly our girls were defeated in a hard fought match against a strong Moville team. Although we were chasing the game all through the match, the young girls never gave up and showed tremendous fighting spirit in the last ten minutes to put Moville under huge pressure. Tonight we may have been defeated but the parents and supporters can stand proud of our young team. Tonight Girls even in defeat we are proud of you all. |
