With the Senior Championship three weeks away and the opening match against Naomh Conaill being the opener.....every match now is as much about performance as it is result. Therefore it was good to see both... a strong performance and a win away to Glenfin this evening. Strengthened by the return of Adi O Gara, Shaun the Yank and Owen Grant from the USA....the lads weathered an early Glenfin dominance to go in at half-time with a 5 point lead. The second half saw Glenfin reduce the deficit to 2 points and it was impressive watching Naomh Muire then take control of the match and loading on the scores which their possession deserved. Leaving Glenfin with victory is seldom easy and this was a good performance against a fellow Senior Championship side. Thomas Duffy made his debut in goals and keeping a clean sheet against Glenfin together with getting the kick outs together was a highlight. The reserves playing with the bare 15 found the home side in strong form but great credit to the lads for giving it their all and although beaten, showed plenty to be proud of. Overall a good night by the Finn. Donegal Senior and Minor Team Training Fund Night - In Leos next Saturday Night 13th
Naomh Muire are hosting an Oiche Mór in Leos next Saturday night in support of the training fund for our heros in the Minor and Senior Squads. Music will... be provided by Local Artists as we show our appreciation and support for both teams as they prepare for the All -Ireland Final in Two weeks. With so many players from Gaoth Dobhair, Dungloe and Na Rossa as well as several locals involved in the management, it is only right that we play our part in helping out the successful training fund. The sides have brought pride, honour and joy to the county and this is an opportunity to show our support. There will be an auction of a signed Minor and Senior jersey as well as a signed football from Sundays game (bids can be made in advance). Please support our County Hero's......Jim, Declan and the teams. |
