The reserve team came away with all two points in Burt this afternoon with a six point victory over the home team. Naomh Muire started well with some good play in the opening fifteen minutes but some wayward shooting meant that they only converted two of those chances. The home team had less of the ball but narrowed the margin after about twenty miunutes with a well taken point. Kevin Boyle converted a free before Burt pulled another one back. The visitors then finished out the half stronger to leave the half time score:
HT: Burt 0-02 Naomh Muire 0-04 Naomh Muire upped the pace in the second half and with half back Thomas Devenney pushing forward they started to register more scores. BP Boyle was moved out to the half back line after a nice run forward which resulted in a point for the man wearing number 3 for the afternoon. Kevin Boyle and Darren Gallagher added further points before the home team responded. John Pidgeon was doing well at midfield all day before he was replaced by Seoirse in order to preserve him for the senior team. Micheal Gallagher then replaced the hard working Johnny Gallagher and made an immediate impact winning a number of balls in the full forward line. Pádraig Rua was the final sub to replace Michael McFadden adding further experience to the attack.
