The senior team continued on their winning ways this evening with another good victory over Milford. Played on a lovely Summer's evening the home team played into the bakery end in the first half. The wind that was present duing the reserve game had died down and any that remained favoured the visiting team in the first half. Naomh Muire started well and notched some good early points to take a deserved lead, going 0-06 to 0-02 up after 13 minutes. Milford then struck with their first goal to reduce the defecit to one point middway through the first half. The home team once again got into their stride and with some excellent work by Owen Grant and Ciaran McGinley in fine form with the frees, they edged ahead again (0-09 to 1-03). Milford then netted to even matters. Naomh Muire responded with a point to leave the half time scoreNaomh Muire 0-10 Milford 2-03.
Despite the concession of two goals Naomh Muire remained focused and continued to cause trouble each time they attacked. Ciaran McGinley was once again on target as he streched the lead with some fine scores, some of which were long range efforts. The game was finished as a contest when a high ball in was flicked on and Tom McHugh, having gambled correctly was in to score low and hard to the corner of the Milford net. An excellent team performance which keeps Naomh Muire unbeated this seaon and on top of division 3. NAOMH MUIRE 1. Sean Gallagher 2. Robert O'Donnell 3. Thomas Duffy 4. Daniel Gallagher 5. Reserve Game Naomh Muire 3-17 Milford 3-05 In the earlier game the reserve team had another excellent win when they ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of Naomh Muire 3-17 Milford 3-05. With both Match day keeper Conor Deveney and Shane Greene not available, club referee Robbie O Donnell stepped into goals for the reserve team this evening. With Johnny Gallgher playing up front this team certainly has a good mixture of youth and experience on board. Well done to all involved. Naomh Muire 1. Robert O'Donnell Snr 2. T. Devenney 3. H.
