Naomh Muire advanced to the county stages of the gaeltacht competition this evening with a comfortable win in Glenswilly. Showing three changes in the starting line-up the travelling team raced into an early lead with two early goals. John Pidgeon got on the end of a long high ball played into the square and finished coolly to the net. Minutes later it was Shaun 'The Yank' Boyle's turn when he rounded his man and rattled the net. Points from Ciaran 'Moses' McGinley and an industrious Shaun Boyle left Naomh Muire eight points up after thirteen minutes. The home team responded with a point and but where unable to bridge the gap by any more before half time.
The second half saw the Naomh Muire management introduce a number of subs and they continued to add on the scores. Naomh Muire ran out easy winners in the end. They will now face Na Rossa in the semi-final on Sunday at 1pm. (Photos from tonight's game to follow......) Comments are closed.
