Intermediate Championship Results (22/05/2011)

The Intermediate Championship got underway this weekend with three preliminary round first leg ties being played. Played in windy conditions, Aodh Ruadh needed a last minute point to defeat the fancied Fanad Gaels by one point in Fr. Tierney Park. Naomh Colmcille had an excellent five point victory in their game against the travelling Carndonagh side while St. Nauls took full advantage of their home game to beat Naomh Bríd on a scoreline of 1-12 to 2--03. A third game in all three ties is now a distinct possibility with all defeated teams having a home tie to come.
